The story

You are Price, a man who sold his humanity to get a partnership from a leading company: McDade, Bruton & Moore. Distraint 2 follows on from the events of the first game. It's a sinister tale about restoring hope and finding your purpose.

What it’s like

Grim, sickly-green and grey pixel-adjacent rooms lit by flickering fluorescents and the cold glow of monitors, with dark corridors that feel cramped and airless. The art direction leans on unsettling detail rather than gore: crude hand-drawn textures, shadowed interiors, and abrupt, uneasy silences broken by low drones, metallic knocks and distorted ambient sound that makes every quiet room feel watched. The vibe is bleak, claustrophobic unease with a slow-burn creep, best suited to a late night alone with headphones on. Pacing is deliberate: you examine, puzzle, backtrack and piece together what has happened, with long stretches of wandering broken by sudden jolts of dread. The emotional register is isolated and dislocated, following a hollowed-out man slowly confronting what he has become and whether anything can be salvaged. Horror here is psychological and atmospheric; there is frightening imagery and disturbing moments of cruelty and despair, but little explicit violence and no sexual content. It suits players who enjoy puzzle-adventure games with a heavy atmosphere, story-driven mysteries, and quietly disturbing horror over jump scares or gore.
