The story
When a high-school girl finds that she is merely a character from a comic book whose destiny is decided by the writer, she decides to change the plot to suit her desires and find the love of her life.
What it’s like
Bright, saturated K-drama palette: pastel school uniforms, sunlit corridors, and punchy comic-panel inserts that freeze a frame and slide in speech bubbles and hand-drawn sound effects over live action. The camera is mostly handheld-light and bouncy in the school scenes, cutting quickly between close-ups and wide shots of rooftops and sunlit streets, with the comic-book conceit giving the show a playful, self-aware edge. The score leans on bright pop tracks and sweet piano cues, shifting to softer strings when the romance tips into sincerity. The mood is warm and sparkly with a wistful undertow: cheerful comedy that turns tender and occasionally sad, especially around illness and memory loss. Its people's arcs follow a headstrong girl learning to take control of her own story while two boys circle her with their own secrets. Pacing is brisk, episodes unspool in bursts of banter, and the register swings from slapstick to heartache. Violence is limited to a few brief action moments and minor scuffles; there is no gore, and the sexual content is restrained, mostly chaste romance. Suits a rainy-day binge, comfort rewatching, or an evening when you want something bubbly that still tugs at the heart. For viewers who like romantic comedy with a fantasy twist and playful genre-bending.
