The story
A romantic comedy about two best friends who love each other -- in slightly different ways. After numerous failed attempts to become popular, the girls are mistakenly outed as lesbians, which launches them to instant celebrity status. Seduced by their newfound fame, Karma and Amy decide to keep up their romantic ruse.
What it’s like
Bright, saturated high-school sets with glossy daylight, pastel lockers, and warm sunlit classrooms give Faking It a sunny, candy-coloured look, while the camera moves briskly with quick cuts, snap zooms and playful split-screens that match its restless energy. The sound is pop-forward, with upbeat needle-drops and buoyant comic stings that keep things bouncing. The vibe is lighthearted and cheeky with a sincere undertow, the kind of show that suits a Saturday afternoon, a comfort rewatch, or something to play while tidying up. Pacing is quick and episode-driven, and the emotional register swings between broad physical comedy and tender, awkward moments of real feeling. Its central arc follows two best friends slowly untangling what they mean to each other while the attention they get spirals out of control. Intensity is low: mild teen drinking, some sexual talk and kissing, a few crude jokes, and no meaningful violence or gore. It is for people who want a bold, funny, warm teen comedy with queer characters at its centre and a generous heart.
