The story

A tale of an inner city drug dealer who turns away from crime to pursue his passion, rap music.

What it’s like

Gritty, saturated urban night: neon-smeared streets, sodium-orange stairwells, and handheld camera work that keeps the frame close and jittery during confrontations, then loosens into warmer, steadier shots in studio booths and quieter apartment scenes. The palette swings between cold blues and sickly greens on the block and glossy, amber-lit club interiors, with bass-heavy hip-hop and thudding beats carrying most of the soundtrack. Its vibe is tense, restless ambition, with a sense of hard-won momentum shadowed by grief and danger. The pacing is driven and episodic, with sharp bursts of violence, including shootings and an attempted murder that land abruptly and are shown with real impact, alongside drug dealing, menace and emotional fallout. Expect frequent strong language and a steady undercurrent of threat rather than gore. This is not gentle viewing. It suits a late night when you want something propulsive and bleak-edged, and it will reward people drawn to music-world stories about a young man hardening, losing people close to him, and trying to find a way out through his art.
