The story

As wannabe rockstar Chai, you’ll fight back against a sinister robotics enhancement conglomerate using rhythm-amplified combat where everything – from the motion in the environment to the blows of combat – is synced to the music.

What it’s like

Bright, saturated cel-shaded art with bold outlines and playful cartoon exaggeration, the whole world pulsing in time with a bouncy, guitar-driven soundtrack of rock and electronic tracks. Stages are built like music videos: factory floors, neon boutiques and rooftop arenas where pistons, conveyor belts and enemy swings land on the beat, so the screen itself seems to dance. Combat feels like playing an instrument, with timed button presses that make every combo click into rhythm, and the gameplay is brisk, cheeky and full of quick, satisfying bursts. The vibe is upbeat, witty and cheerfully chaotic, a sugary kind of energy rather than grim menace. Violence is cartoonish and bloodless, robots shatter into sparks and scrap, and the tone stays light and goofy throughout. It suits a Saturday afternoon with headphones on, a playful pick-me-up, or anyone who loves music and wants to feel the rhythm physically. It is ideal for players who want stylish, high-energy action with a sense of humour and no real threat.
