The story

A sexy, suspense-driven legal thriller about a group of ambitious law students and their brilliant, mysterious criminal defense professor. They become entangled in a murder plot and will shake the entire university and change the course of their lives.

What it’s like

Glossy, high-contrast network drama lit in cool blues and warm amber, with saturated flashback sequences in washed-out pastel and restless handheld movement during the courtroom and nighttime scenes. Its Philadelphia is all glass towers, dim apartments, and sodium-lit streets, and the frequent smash cuts, slow-motion reveals, and pulsing synth-and-electronic score give it a heightened, pulpy energy. The vibe is seductive and paranoid, a late-night binge with plenty of sultry tension and jolting twists. Episodes move fast and end on hooks, with the emotional register swinging between flirtatious glamour and sharp dread as its ambitious law students, all compromised by one tangled killing, slowly lose their footing. Violence is present but not graphic: murders and their aftermath are shown with some blood and brief shocking images, and there is frequent sexual content, adult language, and recurring threats of exposure and betrayal. Best for viewers who want legal-courtroom intrigue, soapy twists, and a stylish thriller rather than anything gentle.
