The story

Into the Radius is a single-player VR survival shooter. Players explore the surreal, anomaly-riddled Pechorsk Security Zone, scavenging for loot and strange artifacts while defending themselves with realistic firearms. The game requires careful inventory management and tactical decision-making as players unravel the zone’s mysteries in an unforgiving dystopian environment.

What it’s like

Grey, washed-out daylight and sickly green haze drifting over Soviet-era concrete, rusted rail yards and overgrown forest; the zone's anomalies flicker with electric blues and violets against a dim, overcast world. Sound leans on wind, distant creaks and the crack of gunfire, with eerie tonal hums rising when an anomaly stirs close by. In VR the weight of the rifle, the rustle of a backpack and the slow reach for a med kit all carry the feel, and the rhythm is deliberate: long stretches of tense quiet while scavenging, then sudden, panicked firefights. The mood is bleak and watchful, a cold dread with a stubborn streak of survival grit. Violence is frequent and realistic in its firearms, with blood and wounds shown in a grounded way, though gore stays modest and the fear comes mostly from ambush and uncertainty rather than shock. Best suited to players who enjoy patient, tactical play in a desolate place, preferably in a dark room with headphones on.
