The story
Receiver 2 simulates every internal part of each firearm based on manufacturer schematics and gunsmithing resources. Learn exactly how each sidearm works, including how to load and unload them, clear malfunctions, and operate their safety features.
What it’s like
Hard-edged, precise, and quietly austere: a first-person view of cramped concrete rooms and dim industrial spaces, lit by flat fluorescent tubes, bare bulbs and the cold glow of a torch, with a muted, grainy palette of greys, rust and oily blacks. The real draw is the sound and the hands. Every magazine seat, slide rack and safety click has its own weight and clatter, and the soundscape is mostly mechanical clicks, metallic scrapes and distant room tone, with sparse ambient drone rather than a driving score. Pacing is deliberate and methodical: you strip, inspect, reload and clear a jam in a steady rhythm, and the shooting, when it comes, is slow and considered. The emotional register is calm concentration, the satisfaction of understanding something intricate by hand. It is almost entirely non-violent in tone, with no gore or cruelty, though it deals in firearms throughout. Best for players who enjoy tactile puzzles, mechanical tinkering and quiet, focused sessions, especially those who like slow, meditative problem-solving over spectacle.
