The story
Earth is visited by an alien species that threatens humanity's existence. Events unfold in real time through the eyes of five ordinary people across the globe as they struggle to make sense of the chaos unraveling around them.
What it’s like
Naturalistic daylight and handheld, close-in framing give this series the feel of a documentary crew caught in a crisis, with ordinary kitchens, hospital corridors, and crowded streets lit by flat, overcast or sun-bleached light. The alien presence arrives as glassy, unsettling sheen and hushed wrongness rather than spectacle, while the score pulses with low brass and percussive tension that swells when the danger closes in. Its vibe is anxious, human-scaled suspense: a restless global thriller that cuts between far-apart lives, each one shaped by fear, improvisation and small acts of courage. Pacing is brisk and episodic, with cliffhangers rolling into one another, and the emotional register stays grounded, focused on parents, partners and strangers trying to hold together under pressure. Intensity is moderate to high: there is frequent peril, sudden and sometimes bloody violence, and scenes of death and panic that land hard, though gore stays more functional than extravagant. It suits a weekend binge that can tolerate tension, and it's for viewers who want apocalyptic stakes played through intimate, realistic characters.
