The story

Hundreds of years from now, the last surviving humans discover the means of sending consciousness back through time, directly into people in the 21st century. These "travelers" assume the lives of seemingly random people, while secretly working as teams to perform missions in order to save humanity from a terrible future.

What it’s like

Cool, grounded Canadian-set interiors: cramped apartments, beige offices, rain-slick streets and muted daylight rendered in a naturalistic, slightly desaturated palette, with a steady handheld-leaning camera that stays close to faces during tense moments. The sound design leans on low synth drones and pulsing undertones that swell during missions, while quieter scenes let kitchen clatter, traffic and ambient room tone carry the mood. The vibe is tense but restrained, a serious paranoid thriller with flickers of wry humour, best suited to a focused evening or a binge across several nights when you want a plot that keeps tightening. Pacing is brisk and episodic, with slow-building dread punctuated by sharp action beats. Its people are displaced and guarded: strangers slowly learning to trust one another while carrying secrets that cost them their own lives. Violence is present and occasionally sudden, including shootings and physical fights, with some peril and emotional distress but no graphic gore and little sexual content. It suits viewers who want a thoughtful, moody sci-fi drama with a strong sense of place and a team of reluctant heroes.
