- comedy
The story
Akhil, an underdog and a failure, comes to know that his real father is a rich diamond merchant who has just passed away. When he goes to retrieve his wealth, he learns that a dog has inherited it.
What it’s like
Bright, broadly lit comic frames and a loose, energetic pace suit this one, with the emphasis on exaggerated reactions and physical gags over any moody atmosphere. The vibe is light and silly, the kind of crowd-pleasing comedy you can put on for an easy laugh on a lazy evening or as background company while doing something else. Its humour is built on mistaken identities, escalating misunderstandings and an underdog's scramble for money, with a dog as the unexpected centre of the joke. The tone stays cheerful and noisy throughout, and the arc follows a hapless man who gets pulled from failure into a sudden, absurd windfall. Expect slapstick-style physical comedy, cartoonish mishaps and a few broad songs or set pieces typical of Hindi commercial cinema, with no real dread or gore. It is gentle in intensity: comic bluster rather than cruelty, and nothing that lingers unpleasantly. It suits viewers who want a goofy, feel-good comedy with a light touch and a playful absurdity, and who enjoy the big, bright, expressive style of mainstream Bollywood farce.
