The story
A group of small-town young men run a lucrative phishing operation, until a corrupt politician wants in on their scheme -- and a cop wants to fight it.
What it’s like
Dusty roads, tin-roofed houses and sun-baked courtyards in the Jharkhand countryside give this series a hot, flat, unglamorous look, shot in natural daylight that bleaches the colours and makes the heat feel physical. Night scenes lean on dim bulbs, mobile-phone glow and the cold blue of laptop screens, so the scam rooms feel cramped and conspiratorial against the open village. The camera stays close and handheld in the chaotic moments and settles into patient, observational framing when characters sit and talk over tea. Sound is mostly ambient: crows, scooters, distant radios, a wry folk-tinged score that surfaces sparingly. The vibe is sun-bleached, sardonic and tense, with dark humour running under the unease. Pacing is brisk and episodic, with plenty of scheming and bickering. The emotional register is restless and wry rather than sentimental, and the arcs follow young men caught between easy money and a sense of being trapped, along with a cop who grows more stubborn as the stakes rise. Violence is present but mostly sharp and sudden, with some threats and beatings and no gore; the sexual content is minimal. It suits a binge over a few evenings and fans of crime dramas that keep one foot in comedy, especially viewers who want a small-town setting with real grit and a clear sense of place.
