The story

The carefree life of a 40-year-old playboy comes to a standstill when he comes to know that he has a 20 something-year-old daughter.

What it’s like

Bright, saturated Mumbai interiors and sunlit apartments give this comedy a glossy, upbeat surface, with bold colour in clothing and set dressing and fast, polished cuts that keep the energy high. Camera work is conventional and mobile, favouring two-shots and reaction close-ups during the bickering, and the soundtrack leans on upbeat pop and playful musical interludes that punctuate the scenes. The vibe is breezy, light and sitcom-warm, with a teasing, slightly chaotic energy rather than any real sense of unease. It suits a lazy weekend afternoon, a light background watch, or an evening with friends who want to laugh without thinking too hard. Pacing is brisk and the emotional register stays sunny: a self-centred, middle-aged bachelor grudgingly softens as he learns to share his life with the young woman who has landed in it. Intensity is low: mild innuendo and suggestive banter, no real violence, no gore, nothing frightening or cruel. It is for viewers who want a playful, colourful comedy about family surprises and romantic mix-ups, and who enjoy lighthearted Hindi cinema with plenty of music.
