The story

Jennifer, a gorgeous, seductive cheerleader takes evil to a whole new level after she's possessed by a sinister demon. Now it's up to her best friend to stop Jennifer's reign of terror before it's too late.

What it’s like

Bright, saturated teen-horror palette: sunlit suburban Minnesota streets, glossy high school hallways, lurid reds of stage lighting and blood against candy-pink and cheerleader-white, all shot in clean, polished digital with a slick, MTV-era sheen. Camera moves are quick and playful, with snappy cuts, pop-art inserts and a rock-band soundtrack of loud guitars and indie-punk rawness that keeps the energy high. The vibe is campy, sardonic and knowing, a mix of teen comedy and gory horror with a wink in every scene. Pacing is brisk and jokey, with long stretches of banter between two girls whose friendship frays under pressure, though the mood tips into grisly violence and sexualised kills that land hard and often. Expect bloody, graphic gore, sexual menace and murder rendered with dark humour, along with frank talk about sex and cruelty, none of it gentle. It suits a late-night watch with friends or a lively horror-comedy craving, and fits viewers who like their scares cheeky, feminist-tinged and unafraid of excess.
