The story

Wanting to earn fame and fortune, a small time lawyer files a PIL for an infamous hit-and-run, and thus learns what it really is like to be a lawyer.

What it’s like

Bright, crowded Lucknow courtrooms and cramped chambers under ceiling fans and tube lights, with the handheld, jostling energy of a Hindi mainstream comedy that rarely sits still. The camera follows its hustling protagonist through corridors thick with files, tea stalls, and touts, and the palette leans on warm yellows, dusty browns and the faded colours of north Indian city life. The score is bouncy, horn-driven and playful, punctuated by song breaks and sharp comic cuts, so the rhythm stays brisk even when the subject turns serious. Its vibe is scrappy, satirical and warm, a good fit for a lazy weekend afternoon or a crowd-pleasing watch with friends. Emotionally it moves from cheerful opportunism toward something more earnest, following a self-serving underdog slowly reckoning with what the legal profession demands of him. The comedy is broad and the tone is mostly light, with courtroom drama and a few tense moments but no graphic violence; the hit-and-run is discussed rather than shown in gore. It suits viewers who want a lively, socially aware comedy-drama with a little heart and plenty of banter.
