The story

Three friends growing up in India at the turn of the millennium set out to open a training academy to produce the country's next cricket stars.

What it’s like

Sunlit Ahmedabad streets in saturated, dusty gold, crowded lanes full of kites, scooters and cricket bats, and a bright, bouncy score built on guitar strums, folk rhythms and warm pop that swells during matches and celebrations. The camera stays close and restless, riding along with the boys through bazaars and rooftops, then settles into quieter two-shots over late-night chai and dim bedrooms. Its vibe is exuberant and bittersweet, suited to a lazy weekend afternoon, a homesick evening, or a rewatch with friends. The pacing is loose and episodic in the first half, building a dense, affectionate rhythm of ambition and banter before tightening into a sober turn in the second half. Its arcs follow three friends whose loyalty is tested by money, pride and changing ambitions. Intensity is moderate: a few cricket injuries and a brief but harrowing sequence of communal violence in the back half, with dread and aftermath rather than gore. No sexual content. It suits viewers who want male friendship drama, sporting ambition and a warm, grounded sense of place, with a sharp emotional drop late on.
