The story

When the King of All Cosmos accidentally destroys all the stars in the sky, he orders you, his pint-sized princely son, to put the twinkle back in the heavens above. Join the King and Prince of Cosmos on their wacky adventure to restore the stars at home or on the go – now in full HD!

What it’s like

Bright, candy-coloured toy-box visuals with flat pastel skies, bold outlines and a cheerful hand-made look, the whole world rendered like a playroom diorama. The sound is a bouncy, looping soundtrack of jaunty J-pop-flavoured tunes and chirpy sound effects that swell as the ball picks up speed, with the tiny ticking hum of the rolling katamari filling the quieter moments. Its vibe is giddy, silly and sunny: a playful, low-stakes romp that rewards the simple pleasure of watching a sticky ball grow from thumbtacks to skyscrapers. Each level is a short, self-contained burst of rolling and collecting, so it suits a lazy afternoon, a commute on the go, or a few minutes between other things. Pacing is brisk and satisfying, with a steady escalation of scale that turns the mundane into spectacle. Emotionally it is warm and goofy, with a gently affectionate father-and-son bond running through the absurdity. There is no violence, gore or fear here, only mild slapstick and cartoon chaos. It is made for players who want cheerful, uncomplicated fun, anyone who enjoys gentle physical comedy and the joy of watching things stick together.
