The story

When a headstrong street orphan, Seiya, in search of his abducted sister unwittingly taps into hidden powers, he discovers he might be the only person alive who can protect a reincarnated goddess, sent to watch over humanity. Can he let his past go and embrace his destiny to become a Knight of the Zodiac?

What it’s like

Bright, glossy CGI and saturated color take over the screen here, with glowing cosmos-energy effects, gleaming golden armor and sweeping, kinetic camera moves during its fight scenes. The palette runs warm and high-contrast, with sunlit Athens-style cityscapes and dusty training grounds giving way to dim, mythic interiors lit by torchlight and blue-white celestial glow. Sound design leans on bombastic orchestral swells, thudding percussion and crisp impact effects, so the energy stays high most of the time. Its vibe is earnest, bright and adrenaline-driven, the kind of thing to put on for a weekend action night or a comfort-level popcorn watch with friends. The pacing is brisk, with training montages giving way to large set-piece battles, and the emotional register is sincere rather than ironic: a restless, grieving young man learning to trust a bond and accept a bigger role. Violence is frequent and stylised, with punches, energy blasts and clashes of armor that draw on the look of anime without much gore, and some peril for its heroes. Fans of shonen-style fantasy, mythological spectacle and fast, CGI-heavy action will find it fits, while those wanting something quiet or gentle should look elsewhere.
