The story

Two boys meet by chance when both attempt to walk along the white line on the sidewalk. As they become drawn together and choose to walk side by side, how will their unchanging feelings co-exist within a world of changing realities?

What it’s like

Soft, unhurried daylight on ordinary Japanese streets, with the pale painted line on a sidewalk as a recurring image of two people trying to keep their balance together. The mood is wistful and quietly aching, a slow-burn drama that lingers on glances, pauses and the weight of what goes unsaid, with a gentle piano-leaning score that leaves room for silence. Its rhythm stretches across years through a time skip, so it feels like memory settling into the present. Intensity is emotional rather than physical: there is no graphic violence, and the tension comes from secrecy, infidelity and fear of being seen, which can sting. Expect angst and bittersweet longing with moments of tenderness and personal growth. It suits a rainy weekend, a late-night watch alone, or a patient viewer who wants a sincere, romantic drama about first love, lasting feelings and the cost of choosing each other openly.
