The story
The peaceful world of the LocoRoco are under attack by the not-so-nice Moja Corps! These evil outer space creatures have come to take the LocoRoco from their land of blowing flowers, lively creatures and pastel scenery. As the planet where the LocoRoco inhabit, you must move them through more than 40 levels of slippery slopes, teetering platforms and maze-like passages. The LocoRoco have the uncanny ability to fluidly morph to their landscape, so all you need is to tilt, roll and bounce the happy blob-like creatures to safety!
What it’s like
Bright pastel side-scrolling worlds with soft, hand-painted textures, rolling hills and flowers that bloom and sway in a gentle breeze. The palette runs to mint, peach, sky blue and buttercup yellow, with the cheerful clatter of musical blobs filling every level. Each stage unfolds in a flat, storybook side view, where the camera drifts along slopes and tilts with the terrain, and the rhythm comes from rolling, bouncing and bunching a squirming group of round creatures across wobbling platforms and winding passages. Music is bubbly and playful, responding to the blobs' chirps, so the soundscape feels like a bright, faintly silly singalong. Its vibe is light, whimsical and low-stakes, suited to a lazy afternoon, a short evening session, or a relaxed play when you want something upbeat without pressure. Enemies are cartoonish invaders who threaten the creatures' home, but the tone stays silly and warm, with no gore, cruelty or real fear, only mild peril and puzzle-driven frustration. Its pacing is unhurried and playful, with secrets and collectibles rewarding curiosity. It is for players who want a gentle, colourful puzzle platformer that is easy to love and easy to put down.
