The story
Lurkers is a chaotic 2D multiplayer sandbox where you can build, battle, and survive! Fight zombies, conquer game modes like Bedwars, and unleash your creativity in a world that’s yours to shape and destroy.
What it’s like
Chunky pixel-art sprites moving across side-scrolling, blocky worlds lit by flat daytime sky and the orange glow of torches and furnaces after dark, with the greens of grass and the grey stone of caves giving way to a dim, eerie underground. The sound is a bouncy chiptune-leaning score under clattering crafting, hammering, and the groaning of approaching zombies, and it shifts to tense, thinner music when night falls. The pace is quick and scrappy: short bursts of gathering and building, then sudden skirmishes in which players swing, shoot, and rebuild again. The mood is busy and playful with a current of nervous dread, the kind of warm, scrappy chaos that suits an evening with friends or a solo session of digging and fortifying. Violence is cartoonish and frequent, with zombies knocked apart in puffs of pixels and no gore or sexual content; fear comes from numbers and night pressure rather than anything graphic. It suits players who want a loose, creative sandbox with fights, multiplayer modes, and a lot of building, and who are comfortable with a little tension.
