The story

Let your hunting instinct take you further than ever! "Iceborne" is a massive expansion that picks up after the ending of Monster Hunter: World and opens up the new "master rank!" New quests, monsters, weapons, armor, and story await to take your hunting to the next level.

What it’s like

Cold blue-white light and frost-glazed ruins set against lush, sun-warmed jungle, with the camera pulled back so enormous creatures read as weather as much as enemies. The palette swings from pale glacial teal and steel-grey snowfields to ember-orange fire and deep verdant green, and the sound is built from thudding footfalls, wind over ice, and sweeping orchestral swells that rise sharply when a fight turns. Hunts unfold at a deliberate, tactical rhythm: long stretches of tracking across open maps, then bursts of intense, tightly timed combat where every monster has a readable tell. Underneath the spectacle the mood is quietly determined and communal, a steady warmth of camp life, cooking, and crafting between dangerous sorties. Intensity is high but stylised: heavy blows, creature-on-creature carnage, and bloodied hunters, with blood spatter and wounds rendered more as game feedback than gore, and no sexual content. It suits long evening sessions, focused solo play, or co-op runs with friends. This is for players who want a demanding, methodical hunt that rewards patience, mastery, and the satisfaction of slowly conquering something huge.
