The story

A mute man with a violent past is forced to take on the teeming underworld of a near-future Berlin as he searches for his missing girlfriend.

What it’s like

Neon-smeared nights over a rain-slick, sprawling Berlin, with the city's glow reflected in wet asphalt, steam-clouded bar windows and the cold blue wash of screens. The palette runs teal and amber against deep shadow, the framing is wide and often symmetrical, and the camera lingers on crowded streets and dim interiors rather than cutting fast. Sound does much of the work: a synth-and-ambient score pulses under long stretches of city hum, and the film leans into near-silence whenever its protagonist, who cannot speak, is alone with his thoughts. The vibe is lonely, moody and cyberpunk noir, best for a late night alone or a slow, atmospheric watch. Pacing is deliberate, with the emotional register sitting somewhere between melancholy and bleak; the central arc follows a withdrawn man who stays guarded even as he pushes deeper into a dangerous world. Violence appears in sharp, sudden bursts, including fights and a few brutal moments, but it is not constant, and there is some drug use, sex-work content and grim underworld cruelty. It suits viewers who want stylish, slow-burn sci-fi with a strong sense of place and are comfortable with an adult, unsentimental tone.
