The story
Former assassin Hutch Mansell takes his family on a nostalgic vacation to a small-town theme park, only to be pulled back into violence when they clash with a corrupt operator, a crooked sheriff, and a ruthless crime boss.
What it’s like
Sun-bleached Americana in bright, saturated daylight: dusty roads, painted saloon facades, and a sprawling rural theme park with garish neon signage and a postcard look gone faintly sour. The camera moves briskly through kinetic action, with quick cuts and wide staged shootouts that often collapse into close, tight-framed brawls. The score leans on twangy, rollicking rhythms and driving percussion, so the mood stays playful even as bodies drop. Violence is frequent and explicit, with gunfire, stabbings, and bloody hand-to-hand fights where splatter is shown without much restraint, though deadpan humor and slapstick beats cushion much of it. Between set pieces, quieter scenes of a tired couple bickering and reconnecting slow the pace and give the chaos a domestic, wry warmth. The rhythm is relentless but cheerful, a loud, irreverent ride for people who want escapist mayhem with black comedy, a competent and ludicrously capable protagonist, and a family-holiday sensibility wrapped around a revenge spree.
