The story
Fight through bloodstained battlefields of intense swordplay action. Explore the historic Japanese capital of Edo-era Kyoto, twisted by malevolent clouds of Malice. With every stage cloaked in mystery, danger and intrigue. Battle against monstrosities from the underworld known as Genma in a tale of dark fantasy. Follow the tale of a samurai who wields the Oni Gauntlet, a mystical artifact that grants its bearer the power to slay Genma. Through gritty, blood-soaked brawls, he searches for his reason to fight. What fate awaits at the end of his path?
What it’s like
Dark, rain-slicked Edo-era streets under bruised, smoky skies, with the crimson bloom of Malice clouds staining the horizon and lanterns guttering against deep shadow. Its palette runs cold indigo and ash grey, broken by sharp flashes of blue-white light from the Oni Gauntlet and the sick red glow of the Genma. Camera work follows the swordplay close and kinetic, with tight, reactive framing during combat and wider, moodier views of ruined shrines and burning rooftops between fights. The soundtrack leans on taiko percussion, low strings and bursts of distorted choral tension, with sword clashes and monstrous shrieks carrying the mix. Pacing alternates frantic, combo-driven brawls with quieter stretches of exploration and mystery, giving it a restless, tense rhythm. Its vibe is grim, brooding and adrenaline-charged, a dark-fantasy samurai story suited to late-night sessions alone with headphones on. Violence is frequent and graphic: bloody, gritty brawls, with gore and dismemberment of monsters and some human enemies, and a constant undercurrent of dread. It is for players who want visceral, stylish action and a sombre, morally heavy samurai tale rather than anything gentle.
