The story

PAC-MAN Championship Edition DX continues to uphold NAMCO BANDAI's tradition of enhancing a classic franchise for today's gamer. Building upon PAC-MAN Championship Edition’s original six courses, the new game features more than 100 varied and mind-boggling mazes to navigate. Several new modes will also be available to test a player's pellet-munching aptitude. In Time Attack Mode, players will vie for the quickest clear time. Fulfill a series of objectives in Mission Mode or compete to devour the most number of ghosts gobbled in Ghost Mode.

What it’s like

Hard neon on black: the mazes glow in saturated, pulsing colours against an inky void, and the ghosts flash bright blue as they turn. The camera stays tight and top-down, so the whole board reads at a glance, and the pellets chime in a bright, ticking rhythm that quickens as the chase heats up. Slow-motion beats briefly stretch a near-miss into a held breath before the tempo snaps back. This is a sharp, abstract arcade vibe, clean and electric rather than nostalgic-dusty, with a deliberately retro core wrapped in modern polish. Runs are short, usually a few minutes, so it suits a late-night session, a commute on a handheld-style screen, or a quick reset between heavier games. Intensity is minimal: no violence or gore, only the mild tension of being chased and the sting of a lost life. Pacing is relentless but controllable, with time-attack clocks and mission goals giving each stage a clear shape. Best for players who love pattern-reading, high-score chasing, and the pure focus of a maze that rewards memorisation and nerve.
