The story
While evading the cops in Agra, Rani and Rishu scheme to run away together. But when their plans go awry, Rani asks a mild-mannered admirer for help.
What it’s like
Tense, sun-bleached unease with a romantic pulse, set in the crowded, dusty lanes of Agra, where a tight chase and a sticky plan keep the mood restless from start to finish. The sequel to a domestic-noir romance, it leans on suspicion and shifting loyalties more than on quiet atmosphere, so the pacing is brisk and the scenes tend to hinge on who is lying to whom. Its emotional register runs between giddy infatuation and cold dread, and its central relationships turn on desire, dependence and the question of who can be trusted. Expect crime-thriller tension, some violence, and romantic and sexual undertones that are more suggestive than explicit; it is not gentle viewing. It suits a late-night watch for anyone who likes twisty, morally slippery thrillers with a love story at their core, and for viewers who enjoyed the first film's mix of mystery and heat.
