The story
Pizza Tower is a 2D platformer mainly inspired by Wario Land and Earthworm Jim. The game has over-the-top hand-drawn animations and music. You play as Peppino Spaghetti, a manic pizza man with many abilities like charging, super jumping and dashing. Peppino has to go up each floor of the tower by finding keys, saving toppins folks and getting as many points as possible!
What it’s like
Bright, saturated hand-drawn cartoon frames that jitter and squash with every hit, all cheese-yellow, tomato-red and bread-brown, set against the grimy, lurid interiors of a tower that tilts between cramped corridors and wide, busy floors. The soundtrack is a bouncing, high-energy blend of chiptune-leaning rock and jazz that spikes whenever the screen starts to flash, and the sound design is full of cartoon slaps, splats and exaggerated stings. Movement is fast and twitchy: a charge-dash and super-jump engine that rewards momentum, a constant timer-driven rush, and a ranking system that grades every run in bold letters. Vibe-wise it is frantic, goofy and surreal, a loud sugar rush rather than a quiet one. Violence is cartoonish and mostly slapstick: enemies are bonked, flattened and blown apart in puffs of colour, with no gore, no sexual content and no real menace beyond the occasional jump scare. It suits a loud weekend session, a stress-release evening or playing alongside friends who enjoy score-chasing. It is for players who want fast, funny, high-energy platforming with a strong comic streak.
