The story

A boring, reserved husband secretly becomes a lively, confident stranger to woo his own unaware wife only to make her fall head over heels for his dashing alter ego.

What it’s like

Bright, saturated Punjabi-wedding colour: marigold yellows, deep reds and sunlit Delhi streets, with the sharp sheen of a mid-2000s Bollywood musical. Its middle stretch swings between dim, drab office and bedroom interiors and the warm glow of Amritsar fields and a Gurdwara courtyard, so the palette itself does the emotional work. Camera moves are fluid and showy, with sweeping crane shots, spinning dance numbers and close two-shots held on faces during quieter exchanges. The score is melodic and busy, full of orchestral swells, dhol beats and romantic playback songs that the film returns to often. Vibe: bubbly, sentimental and light-hearted, with a warm, gently mischievous edge. It suits a weekend afternoon, a comfort rewatch, or an evening with friends who want something cheerful and sing-along. Pacing is brisk and lively, with comic set pieces alternating with tender, sincere moments. The emotional arc follows a timid man learning to be braver and a woman learning to see past the surface. The romance is sweet, the comedy broad, and the drama mostly tender rather than harrowing. Intensity is low: some slapstick and a brief tense confrontation, but no real violence, gore or sexual content. It is for people who want a warm, romantic, musical comedy with a big heart.
