The story

As Mumbai’s youth are falling prey to rampant drug abuse, suspended cop Radhe is recalled for a clean-up mission. But Radhe is up against a dangerous new outlaw Rana, who will stop at nothing to rule the city.

What it’s like

Saturated, glossy digital frames dominated by hot reds, sodium-orange streetlight and the cold blue of night-city neon, with the Mumbai backdrops of crowded lanes, shuttered godowns and high-rise skylines filmed in wide, flashy compositions. Sound is loud and forward: pounding Bollywood-style beats, booming action cues and punchy needle drops that keep the energy at full volume. The mood is bombastic, swaggering and heavily stylised, a blockbuster pitched for big-screen spectacle and a broad audience rather than quiet realism. Pacing is brisk and set-piece driven, with musical numbers breaking up the chases, and the emotional register stays broad and hero-centred, a loud, crowd-pleasing action thriller for a Saturday night with friends. Violence is frequent and stylised, with gunfights, fistfights and hand-to-hand brawls played for thrills, and some drug-related menace and sexualised dance sequences; it is not gentle and not gory in a grim sense. Best suited to viewers who want high-octane cop action, gang-war rivalry and big musical spectacle.
