The story

Based on the life of Paritala Ravindra, the film follows his life from just a college student to being a politician in the state of Andhra Pradesh.

What it’s like

Dusty, sun-bleached heat and dim, sweat-streaked interiors define the look, with a restless handheld camera pressed close into faces, abrupt zooms, and hard, low-key lighting that flattens rooms into shadow and glare. Rural roads, village squares and crowded political meetings feel stifling and unsettled, and the camera rarely holds still. The soundtrack is loud and insistent, with pounding percussion and tense swells that drive the pace rather than soothing it. Editing is clipped and relentless, cutting between escalating feuds, rallies and ambushes. The vibe is grim, tense and hot-blooded, suited to a late night when you want intensity rather than comfort. Violence is frequent and brutal, with shootings, stabbings and bloody killings shown with little restraint, and menace and cruelty run throughout. The emotional register is cold and hardening, following a young man's gradual slide from idealism into ruthless power, where loyalty and vengeance shape every choice. Best for viewers who want a hard-edged political crime saga, not anything gentle.
