The story

Maddy impersonates Rajeev, the person his love interest, Reena, is about to marry and attempts to woo her. However, he is unprepared for the moment when the truth will be revealed.

What it’s like

Warm, saturated Mumbai colour: sunlit courtyards, bright festival fabrics, and the glossy, polished look of early-2000s Bollywood romance, with lush song sequences and sweeping camera moves that make the city feel busy and affectionate. The score leans on melodic Hindi film songs, bright strings and bouncing rhythms that alternate with softer, tender numbers during quieter scenes. The mood is light-hearted and romantic with a bittersweet undercurrent, a comedy of mistaken identity that slowly tilts toward heartache as a man's playful deception starts to cost him. Pacing is brisk but flirtatious, with plenty of room for stolen glances and musical interludes. The emotional arc follows a charming young man learning that love built on pretence cannot hold, and a woman weighing devotion against a surprise she never expected. Violence is absent and cruelty is minimal; the romantic and emotional tension is the main source of sting. Mild physical comedy and one or two kisses, nothing explicit. Suited to people who want a melodramatic, music-filled romance for a lazy weekend or a comfort rewatch, and to those who enjoy the classic Bollywood blend of heartbreak and song.
