The story

Leon S. Kennedy and Claire Redfield must battle a rogue warrior seeking revenge after unleashing the deadly G-Virus, whilst a mutated monster goes on a rampage.

What it’s like

Hard-edged CGI animation with a glossy, cool-toned palette: sterile white corridors, rain-slicked city streets under sodium-orange and blue night light, and dim, claustrophobic interiors where flashlight beams cut across dust and fog. Camera work leans on fast tracking shots and sharp cuts during action, then settles into steadier, tighter framing for quieter exchanges between characters. The sound design is loud and mechanical, with gunfire cracking through the mix, wet, grinding creature noises, and a pulsing electronic score that drops out into tense near-silence before each scare. Its vibe is bleak, tense, and pulpy, closer to a late-night arcade thriller than a slow-burn mood piece, and it suits a dark evening with the lights low. The pacing is brisk, with the story moving from one set-piece to the next, and the emotional register stays grim and wry. The hero's arc is a tired, world-weary agent drawn back into a fight he thought was behind him, with a steadier, more resolute partner beside him. Violence is frequent and graphic: gunfights, bloody infection and mutation scenes, and gory creature kills, with some sexual innuendo but no explicit sex. This suits adult fans of the Resident Evil games and anyone who wants horror-action with dread rather than gentleness.
