The story

When a fearless enemy out for revenge unleashes a brutal and deadly new virus, BSAA captain Chris Redfield enlists the help of Agent Leon S. Kennedy and Professor Rebecca Chambers to bring down the death merchant and save New York City.

What it’s like

Hard-edged CGI animation with glossy, saturated surfaces: rain-slicked streets lit in sodium orange and cold blue, flashes of muzzle light and sickly green virus glow cutting through night interiors, and a handful of quieter rooms in flat fluorescent white. Camera moves are kinetic, with fast pans, low tracking shots and slow push-ins during tense standoffs. The score leans on pounding electronic percussion and synth swells, with gunfire and shrieking creatures mixed loud and close. The vibe is slick, bombastic and relentlessly urgent, the kind of pulpy, cartoon-adjacent B-movie energy that suits a Friday night with friends or a loud, uncomplicated watch when you want momentum over atmosphere. Pacing is brisk, with long stretches of running, shooting and ambush, and emotional beats kept short and functional; the arcs are mostly comradeship under pressure, veterans trading banter while a mentor and his protégé close ranks. Intensity is high: frequent gunfire, bloody gore, body horror, and a sustained threat of mass death, though sexual content is minimal. It is for fans of the games and action-horror animation who want spectacle, creature violence and a fast, unfussy ride.
