The story
RollerCoaster Tycoon Deluxe takes you for a ride in the original RollerCoaster Tycoon and its expansion packs, Corkscrew Follies and Loopy Landscapes. Create the ultimate theme park using a variety of coaster types with giant loops and barrel rolls and in-park attractions like suspended monorails and water-soaked plume rides. Selectable themes for your park include Ice World, Medieval, and Martian. You'll need more than just rides and decoration to keep your guests happy, so find out what they are thinking and meet their needs to make your profits soar.
What it’s like
Bright, chunky pixel sprites sit in a zoomable isometric view, with tiny guests in primary-colour shirts drifting along paths lined with lush green grass, leafy trees and pastel stalls. Each park reads like a toy-box diorama, shifting with its theme from icy blue Ice World to rust-toned Medieval castles to red Martian dust. Coasters clatter and swoop across the landscape, and the soundtrack is a light, looping electronic tune with cheerful chimes and the squeal of rides. The pace is unhurried and absorbing: you set up a layout, tweak prices, then watch the crowd's mood bars rise and fall in quiet, low-stakes calm. Failures mean queues, queasy guests or a ride that stops working, never anything harsher, and there is no violence, gore or threat. It suits a rainy Sunday, a background session while doing something else, or a comfort replay that rewards tinkering. It is for people who enjoy building and optimising, and for anyone who likes a gentle, playful management sim.
