The story
Despite Jigsaw's death, and in order to save the lives of two of his colleagues, Lieutenant Rigg is forced to take part in a new game, which promises to test him to the limit.
What it’s like
Gritty, grimy and cold: dim industrial interiors lit by sickly fluorescent tubes and single hard bulbs, with the blue-green tint of a basement or abandoned factory. The camera jumps between cramped handheld angles and sudden crash-zooms, and the editing is fast and fragmented, cutting between parallel timelines so the frame often feels crowded and claustrophobic. The sound design leans on metallic clanks, ticking clocks, sharp sting cues and a pulsing, percussive score that spikes at every reveal. Vibe: bleak, frantic, grimly tense. Best suited to a late-night watch when you want a jolt rather than calm. Intensity is high: graphic gore, visible wounds, mutilation and sustained torture scenes, with cruelty and bodily horror front and centre rather than implied. Fits viewers who want the franchise's trademark nastiness, sequel-style puzzle plotting, and an unrelenting, punishing ride with no gentleness at all.
