The story
Stationeers puts you in control of the construction and management of a space station to run by yourself or online with your friends. Complex atmospheric, electrical, manufacturing, agriculture, and gravitational systems require your thought and management at all times!
What it’s like
Cold blue-grey interiors lit by flickering work lamps and the amber glow of status panels, with the hard, utilitarian geometry of exposed pipes, gantries and bare metal corridors pressed against a black starfield through the viewport. The sound is mostly mechanical: the hum of life-support fans, hissing valves, a distant klaxon when pressure drops, and long stretches of near silence broken by the soft clatter of tools. Its vibe is quiet industrial unease with a steady, absorbing calm once the systems are humming. The pace is slow and deliberate, built around small repairs, planning airflow and wiring, and watching readouts drift, with the tension rising in bursts when something fails. Emotionally it stays low-key and procedural, with the satisfaction of a system finally running right and the quiet pressure of keeping a fragile base alive. Violence is absent and danger is purely environmental: no gore, no enemies, just the risk of suffocation, freezing or a cascading fault. It suits long solo evenings, background engineering-minded play, or co-op sessions with friends, and it is for people who enjoy methodical, systems-driven building in a lonely, orderly sci-fi setting.
