The story
The five-month-old baby of impoverished tribal woman Jhumpa Mahato is stolen. Two brothers, Gautam and Raman, who witness the kidnapping, try to help her and become embroiled in the complexities of the investigation.
What it’s like
Tense and grounded, a thriller built on urgency and moral unease rather than spectacle. Its engine is a kidnapping of a baby from a poor tribal family, witnessed by two brothers who are pulled into the investigation, so the mood sits between anxious momentum and the sluggish frustration of institutions that move slowly. Expect a drama-thriller rhythm: scenes that tighten as the stakes sharpen, with suspense carried by who knows what and when. The emotional register is sober and angry, centred on class, justice and the vulnerability of the powerless, and its people's arcs turn on the decision to get involved despite risk. Its intensity is mainly psychological: fear for a child, dread and confrontation rather than explicit gore. It suits viewers who want a serious, socially engaged thriller they can settle into on a focused evening, and it is not gentle viewing.
