The story

The now-reformed Bad Guys are trying (very, very hard) to be good, but instead find themselves hijacked into a high-stakes, globe-trotting heist, masterminded by a new team of criminals they never saw coming: The Bad Girls.

What it’s like

Bright, saturated animation with a comic-book energy: flat primary colors, inked outlines, quick cuts and punchy wipes that snap between scenes like a page turning. Heist sequences are staged with bouncy, kinetic camera moves, and the cities it crosses are rendered as bold, graphic backdrops rather than naturalistic ones. The sound is busy and playful, with brisk orchestral stings, sight gags timed to beats, and a lot of snappy banter. The mood is breezy and cheeky, a caper that's happy to be silly, with a warm streak of found-family sweetness underneath. Pacing is fast and rarely lets up, so it works best for a lively family movie night or a light, distracting watch when you want noise and laughs without much to hold onto. Violence is cartoonish: slapstick fights, explosions and chases with no blood or gore, and the peril stays mild and kid-friendly. It suits families with young children, viewers who enjoy zippy animated comedy, and anyone after a fun, unfussy heist with a big heart.
