The story

A woman’s body disappears mysteriously from the morgue without a trace. Police inspector Jaime Peña investigates the strange occurrence with the help of Álex Ulloa, the widower of the missing woman.

What it’s like

Cold, clinical blues and greys dominate, with fluorescent morgue corridors, rain-slicked Madrid streets and dim apartments lit mainly by lamps and screens. The camera is precise and controlled, with tight framing and sharp edits that snap between timelines, so the rhythm stays taut and deliberately unsettling. The score is sparse, built on low strings and quiet pulses that rise beneath long stretches of silence, while the sound design favours hushed rooms, ticking clocks and echoing hospital halls. Emotionally it sits in cool suspicion, with grief curdling into obsession as a widower and a weary inspector trade half-truths and the ground keeps shifting beneath them. Intensity is moderate: a few brief, sharp moments of violence and poisoning, a corpse and some startling shocks, but no gore spectacle, and its intimate scenes are not explicit. It suits a late night alone or a rainy evening when you want a puzzle that keeps tightening, and it is for viewers who enjoy slow-burn mystery, morally slippery characters and a clever final turn.
