The story

A group of National Guard trainees on a routine mission find themselves up against cannibalistic mutants in the New Mexico desert.

What it’s like

Harsh, washed-out desert daylight and dusty earth tones, with the sun bleaching everything to a flat, sickly glare, then slipping into murky, sodium-orange night inside the abandoned mine and the ruined trailer lots. The camera is restless and handheld through the chase sequences, jittering close on sweating faces, while quieter moments hold on dim interiors lit by a single flashlight or a flickering fire. Sound design leans on wind across empty flats, hollow metal clangs, and an aggressive, percussive score that spikes whenever the pursuit starts. Vibe: grimy, sun-scorched dread with a nasty mean streak. Pacing is relentless once it starts, with long stretches of tense hiding broken by sudden, brutal attacks. This is intense horror: frequent, graphic violence, gore, and cruelty, including sexual assault, that lands hard and is not softened; the shock is the point, so it does not suit anyone seeking something gentle. It is for viewers who want an unforgiving, adrenaline-heavy survival horror with a rough, low-budget grit and a bleak outlook on humanity.
