The Pyramid

Directed by Grégory Levasseur

The story

An archaeological team attempt to unlock the secrets of a lost pyramid only to find themselves hunted by an insidious creature.

What it’s like

Shaky handheld footage, headlamp beams slicing through black tunnels, and the greenish grain of night-vision cameras give this one its look: claustrophobic, dust-choked, and lit mostly by small artificial lights against an endless dark. The Egyptian desert appears only in brief daylight flashes of sand and ruin, and the sound design leans on scrapes, echoing footsteps, and the low hum of equipment, with little music to soften the dread. Its vibe is grimy, claustrophobic unease, the kind that suits a late night alone with the lights off or a dark-genre craving. The pacing is restless, built on jump scares and escalating panic rather than slow build, and the emotional register stays tense and frightened, with the team members' arcs reduced to survival under pressure. Horror intensity is high: frequent jump scares, creature attacks with some bloody injuries, and sustained fear, though gore is moderate and there is no sexual content. Best for found-footage fans and monster-movie viewers who want a tight, grimy creature feature in a tomb setting.
