The story
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt – New Quest 'Fool's Gold' is a free DLC quest released by CD Projekt Red on June 3, 2015. In this humorous side quest, Geralt teams up with a character named Hystian to investigate a seemingly cursed village inhabited by pigs.
What it’s like
Overcast, storm-grey medieval countryside with the painterly, mud-and-thatch landscapes and firelit taverns the series is known for, scored by lute and soft strings that drift in and out of quiet stretches. This short, self-contained side quest trades the franchise's bleak weight for a wry, deadpan detour: a village of oinking residents, a suspicious curse, and some investigating done at an ambling, unhurried pace. Humour comes through situations and sly dialogue rather than gags that push too far, so the mood stays light and amused. Combat is the usual swordplay and monster fighting in brief bursts, with some blood but nothing lingering or graphic, and nothing that would unsettle. It suits players who already know the world and want a playful, low-stakes breather between larger story arcs, or anyone after a gentle, funny evening of open-world wandering.
