The story

The world's number one assassin has been reincarnated as the eldest son of a family of aristocrat assassins. In exchange for being reincarnated in another world, a goddess has imposed upon him one condition. "Kill the Hero who is prophesied to destroy the world." This was to be the mission in his new life. The synergistic effect of the vast knowledge and experience he gained that made all manner of assassinations possible in the modern world, and the secret techniques and magic of the fantasy world's most powerful family of assassins turn him into the greatest assassin of all time.

What it’s like

Bright, clean animation with saturated fantasy palettes, stone castles and candlelit aristocratic interiors, and action built around precise, clinical kills that play as much for competence as spectacle. The score leans on orchestral fantasy swells and sharp percussive hits during fights, with lighter, comic beats in the household scenes. The vibe is brisk and wry, a dry-humoured power fantasy with a cool, unflappable protagonist at its centre. It suits a weekend binge or background watching when you want episodes that move quickly and don't demand much attention. Intensity is high: killing is constant and often shown in close detail, there is blood and graphic death, and the story touches on kidnapping, human trafficking and sexual assault, which are treated as plot stakes rather than lingered over. Romance and harem comedy run alongside the violence. Not gentle. It is for viewers who enjoy assassin-protagonist fantasy, competent-hero pacing and light sardonic tone, and who can handle dark material played for escapist adventure.
