The story

After the deadly Uphaar cinema fire, two grief-stricken parents navigate the loss of their kids and a dogged fight for justice.

What it’s like

Muted, rain-greyed interiors and long, unhurried scenes of people sitting with their silence, with the warm lamplight of family rooms pulling against the cold fluorescence of offices and courtrooms. The mood is heavy and slow, closer to grief-stricken stillness than to thriller momentum, and the score stays sparse, letting room tone and quiet carry the weight. Set against the aftermath of a cinema fire in Delhi, the series follows two parents who have lost their children and who turn, reluctantly and then relentlessly, toward a long fight for accountability. Its emotional register is sombre and tender, with anger building slowly and bureaucratic frustration grinding at its edges. The intensity is high in emotional terms: the loss of children is central and handled with care, and the fire and its immediate aftermath are harrowing, conveyed through dread and testimony rather than graphic gore. This is not a comfort watch, but it suits viewers who want a serious, patient drama about grief, institutional failure and persistence, watched in a quiet room over several evenings.
