The story

Follows the life of Ravishankar Tripathi, a tenacious and dedicated police officer who finds himself at the forefront of a challenging acid attack case.

What it’s like

Hard-edged and unhurried, with the grit of a crime procedural set in dusty streets and cramped offices under harsh tubelight, and the heat and grime of the city pressing into every scene. The mood is tense and sombre, built more from quiet dread and long stretches of investigation than from set-piece action. The pacing is deliberate, with scenes that linger on interrogations, paperwork and the strain on the people around the case, and the score stays sparse, letting ambient street noise and silence carry the weight. Its intensity is serious: the central crime is an acid attack, so the drama deals with disfigurement, grief and cruelty, and the violence is more implied and aftermath-focused than explicit, but it is heavy and can be distressing. It is a story about a stubborn, principled man who refuses to let a victim's suffering be filed away, and about the institutions and personal costs that make that difficult. It suits viewers who want a grounded, morally weighty crime drama with an Indian setting and do not need comfort or lightness, best watched alone and with full attention.
