The story

Several years after his last adventure, retired fortune hunter, Nathan Drake, is forced back into the world of thieves. With the stakes much more personal, Drake embarks on a globe-trotting journey in pursuit of a historical conspiracy behind a fabled pirate treasure. His greatest adventure will test his physical limits, his resolve, and ultimately what he's willing to sacrifice to save the ones he loves.

What it’s like

Warm, sun-struck golden light gives way to rain-slick night streets, jungle canopy, and the cold grey of Madagascar cliffs, all rendered with a cinematic polish that makes each vista feel like a postcard someone has leaned into. Camera work stays close over the shoulder during gunfights and climbs, then pulls back for sweeping traversal shots that let you take in the scale of crumbling cathedrals and sunlit coastlines. The score swells with orchestral brass and strings during set pieces and drops to quiet acoustic guitar and ambient wind in the lulls, and the banter between characters lands with a loose, wry warmth. The vibe is adventurous and bittersweet, a buddy-caper mood with an undercurrent of middle-age reflection. Pacing alternates between frantic chases and long, unhurried stretches of climbing, puzzling, and conversation on road trips. Violence is frequent and stylised: gunfights, fistfights, and explosions, with blood present but not lingering, and some peril and tension in tight moments. The emotional core is a man reckoning with what he has left to lose, and a found family learning to trust each other again. Suited to players who want a big, handsome action-adventure with humour and heart, and who are comfortable with a steady stream of combat.
