The story
When the Davison family comes under attack during their wedding anniversary getaway, the gang of mysterious killers soon learns that one of their victims harbors a secret talent for fighting back.
What it’s like
Hard-edged handheld chaos in a remote country house, shot with a restless, close camera that jolts between faces at the dinner table and the dark rooms beyond the windows. Night scenes are lit by lamplight, flashlight beams and flickering porch bulbs, with deep shadows and a grimy, saturated digital finish. The sound design leans on cracking wood, wet impacts and sudden silence, with a synth-and-percussion score that pulses under the tension. The vibe is brutal and mean-spirited, a rough black comedy of family resentment that turns into a bloody, darkly playful home invasion. Pacing is fast and escalating, with the emotional register sharp and sardonic, following a family's brittle dynamics as they break apart and a newcomer proves far more capable than anyone expected. Violence is frequent, graphic and gory, with crossbow hits, stabbings and bodies piling up, and the cruelty is blunt rather than lingering. Not gentle, and not suited to anyone sensitive to gore. Made for fans of lean, independent horror who enjoy gallows humour and a hard-hitting survival turn.
