The story

Columbus has made a habit of running from what scares him. Tallahassee doesn't have fears. If he did, he'd kick their ever-living ass. In a world overrun by zombies, these two are perfectly evolved survivors. But now, they're about to stare down the most terrifying prospect of all: each other.

What it’s like

Bright, saturated daylight over empty American highways and emptied suburban streets, with the handheld, kinetic camera of a road comedy that keeps cutting to quick gags and inserted title cards. The palette runs from sun-bleached desert tans to sudden splashes of arterial red, and the gore is loud, cartoonish and frequent, with comic timing doing most of the work so the violence reads as slapstick rather than dread. The score is buoyant, guitar-driven and pop-tinged, with needle drops that snap the mood back to fun after each scuffle. Vibe: giddy, wisecracking, deliberately silly. It suits a Friday night with friends, a playful rewatch, or a light horror-comedy craving. Pacing is brisk and episodic, and the emotional register is warm under the sarcasm, following two mismatched strangers who slowly become a makeshift family. Intensity is high on bloody zombie violence and profanity but low on true fear; it is a comedy, not a scare. For people who like horror with a grin, quotable banter and cheerful carnage.
