The story

Aces and Adventures is a deck builder RPG with poker-powered combat. Journey through a world inspired by Norse and Middle Eastern mythology to save the Life Tree from the evil that gnaws at her roots.

What it’s like

Crisp, bright illustrated fantasy with a warm, storybook palette: sun-washed ochre deserts, pale northern snow, and card art drawn in flat, inked shapes that read clearly on screen. The soundscape is light and percussive, with plucked strings and soft hand-drums under a low, unhurried tune that rises when a hand is dealt and settles back into quiet between fights. Combat is a card table rather than a battlefield, so much of the feel comes from the small sounds of shuffling, chips and reveals, and from the slow pleasure of watching a deck of abilities take shape across a run. Vibe: cozy but curious, a gentle mix of tabletop calm and mythic wonder. It suits a slow evening at the desk, a weekend session of "one more hand", or a low-pressure background game while listening to something else. Pacing is steady and rewarding rather than frantic, with runs that end and begin again in a loop of small decisions and small gains. The tone stays light and good-humored, with a quest to protect a dying world carried by a stubborn, hopeful heroine. Violence is stylised and bloodless, with fights resolved as card play and no gore, though the threat of rot and corruption gives a mild sense of stakes. It is for players who enjoy deck-building and roguelike runs with a poker twist, and who want strategy wrapped in a warm, mythic, low-gore world.
